Alycia Lane Settles Case With CBS, Larry Mendte

By Ralph Cipriano

The long-running legal battle is over between feuding former co-anchors Alycia Lane and Larry Mendte.

Back in 2008, Lane sued CBS, her former employer, and Michael Colleran, a former CBS president and general manager, for negligence for allowing Mendte to hack into her personal computer.

Mendte was named as a defendant in the suit filed in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. In the suit, Lane accused Mendte of unlawful interception of communications, invasion of privacy, and tortious interference with prospective contractual relations.

The case was scheduled to go to trial Friday until the parties reached a confidential settlement last week. The rest of the story can be read here.

  1. Looks like she got 15K for a settlement. She got nothing of what she had hoped to get.

  3. Ralph, any comment regarding the case against Rolling Stone and Sabrina Erdely who slandered lied and misrepresented a criminal act, all for personal and political gain.

From the work that she performed that laid the foundation for criminal proceeding against the Priests, would not the plaintiffs have grounds to establish the Journalist's intent to manufacture a story to fit an agenda.

Especially drawing the work of her husband, former underling to DA Williams who conspired to provide material to Ms.Erdely which may be a criminal act as to its intent to frame the Priests.

  4. I agree on everything you're saying but my guess is that the statute of limit ions on libel has long run.

  6. Does the DN now qualify for a Pulitzer Prize now that their prize CI Former AG Kane will be jailed?

Too bad she didn't take advanced courses at the Clinton School of Law.

  7. Can the estate of Mondeshire claim injury and sue AG Kane and the State for defamation? It would be true justice to lay claim to her assets as well as a few pounds of flesh.

That would further discourage politicians from misuse of their office.
