If he decides to wait until Monday I think that would amount to "cruel and unusual" punishment: for the jurors, for the lawyers, for the defendants, for the friends and family of the defendants, for the victims... Wait a minute, there aren't any victims. If the verdicts are not guilty, the normal procedure would be that the five defendants currently in jail would be released. If the jury decides they are not guilty, holding them for the rest of the weekend doesn't seem like the right way to proceed.
